LinkedFeed was not your ordinary AJAXed homepage, it used to be an automated and customizable information social network. The more you used it, the most accurate news it brought to you and people sharing your interests.
LinkedFeed was a mix between an AJAXed homepage, an RSS aggregator, and mostly a social network. It gave you control over everything displayed on the site, and pushed content to you and your friends depending on your preferences. A “Linked Feed” was a feed (RSS or Atom) that was linked to those you had already added to your page. Indeed, people that read quite the same feeds you did might have happened to be reading some interesting feed you did not know of. LinkedFeed brought these feeds to you, and suggested your feeds to people who shared your interests!
Moreover LinkedFeed suggested news and content (podcasts, videocasts,…) that were alike to those you were used to reading. This way if content that was of particular interest for you arrived in your feeds, LinkedFeed would know it and would automatically suggest you had read it. Even better, it could suggest you to read content you had not yet subscribed to! The more you used LinkedFeed, the more it got to know you and see what you might have liked to read at that time. You weren’t trapped anymore within the boundaries of the RSS feeds you added.
Everything on LinkedFeed could be edited: you could select and add your RSS/Atom feeds, organize them in various tabs, choose the number of items to display, the windows color, their place on the page, etc. You could also add cool modules made especially for your convenience: web search, feed search, weather forecast, notepad, TV guide …
Unfortunately, the development was not continued and now this website serves as a guide that might help you decide which of the customized homepages is better suited for your needs.
